Southern Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-rising cornmeal
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1½ cups buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup bacon grease

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat recteq grill or wood pellet grill to 400°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients for cornbread. Pour into a lightly greased 9-inch cast iron pan or 9-inch baking pan.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes.
